This movie had such a great starring cast in Robert Downie Jr., Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams. As we've seen in the trailers, Robert Downie Jr. plays Sherlock Holmes who is known to be the greatest fictional detective. His partner John Watson, played by Jude Law, is a doctor and Holmes' closest friend. Irene Adler, played by Rachel McAdams, is a criminal who Holmes has grown an interest in. The movie played very well with the flow of the storyline. Never did the storyline stray from it's path. The acting job of those 3 star actors were brilliant. Now I've seen the trailer before watching this movie and everything led me to believe that Sherlock Holmes was altered in this movie to be more badass. But contrary to my beliefs, this is exactly how Sherlock Holmes is portrayed in the novels. After watching this movie I had to research about Sherlock Holmes and he indeed fought in multiple occasions and he was quite the brawler apparently. Which furthers my belief in how strongly Robert Downie Jr.'s acting was and how great of a directing job Guy Ritchie did. This movie could possibly be one of my favorite movies that in the future, I'll be able to watch over and over again. I think it may even lead me to begin reading the actual novels of Sherlock Holmes. (Apparently, Sherlock Holmes never said "Elementary, my dear Watson" in the novels. Only in the other movies and shows did he say that.) Because of this movie, I, personally have become interested in the novel version of Sherlock Holmes.
